Corning Cable Systems new PCH-M3-01U housing is designed to maximize density and optimize ease-of-use in Plug & Play Universal Systems applications. Each 1U housing holds three reduced-depth CCH-style Plug & Play Universal Systems modules. When using LC duplex or MT-RJ adapters, 24-fibers/modules are available, providing a total modular 1U density of 72 fibers. The housing is compatible with all adapter counts and modes of the reduced-depth CCH-style Plug & Play Universal Systems module. This new 3-module housing is designed to integrate with Corning Cable Systems Plug & Play Universal Systems products which utilize the RJ-clip integration, holding six, size-zero plugs.

The housing’s shallow 8.75 in depth allows it to fit conveniently in many cabinet installations with housings mounted back to back. The shallow nature of the housing minimizes air flow obstruction, maximizing the impact of cooling agents. The rear of the housing also includes off-set air flow holes designed to allow airflow through the housing itself. For the most heat sensitive environments, the rear cover may be removed, further improving the airflow characteristics of the housing.

The housing mounts to a standard 19 in frame. Cable strain relief is provided via the new RJ-clip Plug & Play Universal Systems plug integration piece. This housing is not intended for field termination or splicing.
