These small AC-operated buzzers measure 3.4"W x 7/8"H x 1 7/16"L and are supplied with two spade-ended connecting leads approximately 7 1/2" in length. Alternating current (20 to 60 Hertz) operation of the units eliminates the radio frequency noise usually associated with DC-operated devices. The small size permits their installation in telephone sets and connecting blocks. A screw adjustment at the top acts as a volume control. the operating voltage for the GB8A is 6 to 10 volts; 10 to 30 volts for the GB8B. The GB8X operates on 85 to 105 volts and finds use primaily as a replacement for the usual ringer in a telephone set in order to give it a distinctive signal.
