The Cisco IDS 4200 series appliance sensors are purpose-built, high performance network security "appliances" that protect against unauthorized, malicious activity traversing the network, such as attacks by hackers. Cisco IDS sensors analyze traffic in real time, enabling users to quickly respond to security breaches.
