Connecting Instructions (Unlike the USB Recorders a Key is needed to operate the hoot recorder):

• Remove cable from handset and place in one jack of the hoot
• Place other wire (included with hoot) into the other jack of the hoot and into the handset
• Simply insert hoot recorders wire into the MIC IN jack of your sound card, download the software from the download page
• Start the software and login to the ADMIN screen and Email the Host ID to hootkeys@usbrecorder.com
• The Host ID which is displayed in the ADMIN screen will be used to generate the license file and Key to be used with your hoot. These will be will be e-mailed back to the user from hootkeys@usbrecorder.com
• Keys are emailed within one business day after the Host ID is received. Furthermore, additional keys can be purchased.
